THEATER: 2 Husbands is a spooky-sounding multimedia play that charts the intersection of two bereaved men. One is engulfed in a media and political circus surrounding his wish to terminate the life-support on his vegetative former wife. Man #2, who recently lost his wife in a tragic accident, hires a 'messenger' from the Afterlife Telegram Service. This is a real organization that “connects people who are about to die with people who recently lost someone so that they can memorize a message and deliver it to them in Heaven.” Soon after he hires the telegram service, his late wife starts making ghostly appearances. - John Del Signore

Friday // 8pm // The Chocolate Factory [5-49 49th Ave, Long Island City] // Tickets cost $15.

MUSIC: Todd P is hosting a, what's sure to be sold out, show in...well the listing says "Ridgewood/Bushwick, QNS/BKLYN". Come by one of those boroughs and see Deerhunter and The Dirty Projectors.

Friday // 10pm // Silent Barn [915 Wyckoff Ave] // $8

SCIENCE: The Origins of Norms: The Place of Value in a World of Nature is the topic at hand: ”How are we to understand the place of value in a world of nature when that world is viewed as containing nothing that is not countenanced by natural science? Can we account for the nature of value–and its implications for normative thinking and behavior–in terms that are exhausted by the methods and concepts of the sciences?” Not recommended if you had a late night the night before.

Saturday // 11:30am // The Philoctetes Center [247 East 82nd St, 3rd Floor] // Free

PARTY: It's Willie Nelson’s 74th Birthday Bash! That's right, the ol' guy is getting a year older, and that means you get free BBQ! You can also celebrate the fact that he was just spared some jail time.

Saturday // 6pm // Hank's Saloon [46 3rd Ave, Brooklyn] // Free

THEATER: It’s Spring and, when it’s not raining, we’ll eat up any show that takes place on a roof. equal to or less than two persons per square mile is an intriguing-sounding multimedia performance on a Williamsburg rooftop with views the Manhattan skyline. According to the parties involved, “this work will not only be a play, but a community event. Two twenty-somethings are trapped on a rooftop in Brooklyn and contemplate the meaning of what it means to be a Man… Or a Woman… Or an American… Or something. Oh, and their roommate is a Cowboy from the 19th century.” - John Del Signore

Saturday // 8pm // Office Ops [57 Thames St, Williamsburg] // Email info@commonproductions.com or call (917) 232-3269 for tickets, which cost $15.

MUSIC: Apes and Androids are playing a dance party on Saturday. Be there, squares. Finger on the Pulse deejays will be spinning tunes til midnight, when the band takes the stage. Last month they took the stage at our SXSW show, check it out:

Saturday // 11pm // Studio B [259 Banker St, Brooklyn] // Free, rsvp (a) fotpnyc.com

FYI, Tearing The Veil Of Maya is Eugene's night... not Showalter's.
