Last Night's Action: Bruised In Buffalo

2007_04_srangersgm1.jpg

  • Buffalo 5 Rangers 2: The Sabres showed the depth and speed that made them the top seed in the Eastern Conference Wednesday night. Buffalo skated circles around the Rangers as they built 3-0 and 4-1 leads in the game behind a relentless attack.

Henrik Lundqvist kept the Rangers in the game with 32 saves, but Ryan Miller was also up to the task. Miller made several great saves when it mattered and the Rangers couldn’t break through. Thomas Vanek had two goals for Buffalo while Hossa and Shanahan got the only tallies for New York.

  • Rockies 11 Mets 5: Mike Pelfry was awful, dropping to 0-2 while his ERA ballooned to 7.90 and Aaron Sele didn’t do much better. When it was all over the Mets’ pitchers had surrendered 20 hits and 11 runs as Colorado salvaged a win in the series.

psst...thats Tom Renney, not sather o:-)

After watching the Sabres-Isles series, you start to see how deep the Sabres really are. You can focus on Briere and Drury all you want, and you still Vanek, Stafford, Afinogenov, etc.

Should be an interesting series though...

#1 you're right. my whoops. stupid AP captions.
