After the hearing the crazy voicemail Alec Baldwin left for his daughter, it's nice to hear some refreshing news about him. In a taped segment for tomorrow's episode of 'The View', Baldwin says that he asked NBC to let him out of his contract for '30 Rock' so he could spend his time working on "parental alienation" and that if he "never acted again I couldn't care less." On the show, Baldwin plays a meddling network executive that oversees the live variety show.
NBC quickly shot down the idea of Baldwin leaving the show, which was recently renewed for a second season. In a statement, NBC said, "Alec Baldwin remains an important part of '30 Rock.' We look forward to having him continue his role in the show."
When Rosie O'Donnell and Barbara Walters interviewed Baldwin about the incident with his daughter, Baldwin said the things he said were meant for his ex-wife Kim Basinger. Baldwin didn't answer a question about whether he's since talked to his daughter because of "ongoing procedures."
In more news from The View, it seems like there was more to Rosie O'Donnell leaving the show than just a disagreement over the length of her contract. Sources told The Post that O'Donnell wanted to take over Barbara Walters' role on the show. Naturally, Donald Trump chimed in on the situation yesterday. As for Rosie's replacement, Trump says, "Probably the only one that could really do it would be me, but I would never do it."

Haha, I loved Trump's comments that he's the only one who could take over someone's role on a show that's (original) purpose is to express the opinions and viewpoints of different women. I haven't watched the show in years, but I assume that that is still its goal, no?
