Light April Showers

intelli_radar_0425.jpgThe clouds are rolling in and the sky has a threatening look to it this afternoon, but looks can be deceiving. We're very likely to see light rain beginning around 4:00 p.m and lasting until midnight at the latest. Don't worry if you forgot to bring an umbrella to work. With little wind, the cheap umbrellas that magically appear for sale on the street on days like today should last throughout the evening.

The rain will dissipate overnight and tomorrow will be dry, if cloudy. Friday's weather promises to be more interesting. The storm that brought tornadoes to Texas and Mexico, snow to Colorado, and flooding to the Great Plains will finally make its way to the East Coast. The storm doesn't look to be deadly once it gets here, but there's a good chance for showers and thunderstorms starting Friday morning and lasting through Saturday. The upcoming storm is showing perfect timing, as it arrives toward the end of Severe Weather Awareness Week in New York. The Weather Service even has the governor's proclamation. Oh, the proclamation is for last year and is signed by then-governor Pataki (Remember him? We thought not.), but it looks very official!

If you read the Weather Service forecast Sunday is looking beautiful. Sunny and 66. Weather.com is saying showery and 64. Take your pick!

In the first week of this month temperatures were more appropriate for February. Our record warm Monday was more like July than April. To balance things out temperatures for each day of the rest of the month will stay within a few degrees of normal.
