We believe that the news media have a responsibility to the public to report the news. We also believe that the media have made grave errors by airing the senseless propaganda of Cho Seung-hui. By airing his videos, pictures, and written manifesto the media have caused unnecessary trauma to his many victims and their survivors. They have also endangered our society by rewarding this heinous criminal activity, which already has and will likely continue to spur copycat activities in communities across the United States and the world. Cho is his last name. The media used the whole "last name first" thing to Orientalize the guy and emphasize he was born elsewhere, even though he pretty much grew up in the States.

No collusion - let the media alone (like CBC) decide what information is important to the public - and what is not necessary. You choose not to watch it (although media saturation is near inescapable whether you choose to watch or not) - but the next would-be-killer out there is drawing much inspiration from all this Cho information, just as Cho drew inspiration from all the background stories on the Columbine murderers.

Good to know that at least the CBC has some principles. It will probably take a handful more of these kinds of mass killings to awaken the American media - that they not publicize even the names or pictures of these murderers (information only necessary to authorities and affected families) much less their "manifestos".

Actually Jen seems to be the one who watches it all. And judging by her, I would say that too much TV ruins grammar and spelling capabiltiies.

Dat's what I'm talking about. My Masterplan was completed once NBC aired my rant in it's entirety. NBC are a bunch of dickheads! First they said I was Anti-christian, which is not true. If you know Koreans in America they are 100% Christian!!!! My parents are Christian and I was raised as such. If you notice my diatribe I talk about myself in biblical terms and compare myself to christ and go fire and brimstone ala Fred Phelps. SO basically, I'm a fundamentalist Christian Terrorist. Killing in the name of christ. Notice how the media always talks of linking the Muslim religion with death and violence but not Cho Seung Hui. fuck that!

The cynic has a damn good point ! If you watch TV all day (You should have a job at night) then your going to gain weight, Which will increase your rate of incurring some type of health issue(s) . So make a decision already !

The guilt lies not with the networks. The guilt lies with US. WE are the ones who want to watch it. WE are the ones who then watch the ads. WE are the ones who enable the advertisers to pay the networks. The networks focus on things that get the most viewers. WE are the ones who DON'T watch important news of the day, thus making no way to pay for that type of coverage.
