The man suspected of raping a 23-year-old woman last weekend was aware people were looking for him. Robert Williams, who was arrested after trying to rob a Queens apartment, was charged with rape, attempted murder, kidnapping and more in connection to the violent 19-hour rape and torture of Columbia graduate student in her Hamilton Heights apartment at West 141st and Hamilton Terrace (building pictured). Today, the Daily News reports that Williams tore down wanted posters with a police sketch of himself on them, according to someone who saw him take the poster and stuff it into his pocket.
One of Williams' own relatives called the police to identify him in the police sketch after hearing about the crime. The crime was brutal: The rapist not only sexually assaulted the woman, but slit her eyelids with scissors, tried to make her overdose on an Ibuprofen-like drug and liquid Tylenol, poured bleach on her genitals in an attempt to remove DNA evidence, made her cut her own hair, and tied her up as he set fire to her futon. The woman, who has undergone surgery and is being treated for her burns, reportedly "rallying" and has been asking to see family.
A police source tells the Post that Williams "was trying to do things, to change his personal appearance." Another tells the News, "This guy is playing the crazy angle. But it's not working. Everything he did was deliberate and calculating. He knew what he was doing." And George Guadalupe, a Queens resident who helped capture Williams after he tried to rob Guadalupe's apartment, told the Daily News, "He's a sicko. I think he should be locked up for good. Or maybe they should let him out - so we can finish him."

Hmmm... let's see how balanced the scale of justice in how the media handled two recent events affecting black-white relations.
Imus uses the term "nappy-headed ho's" on the radio (a term, coined, by the way, by Spike Lee in one of his movies). The result is a blitz of national 24-hour media condemnation and celebrity piling on for more than a week. He apologizes repeatedly, but is publicly humiliated and fired from two jobs.
A black guy forcibly drugs and brutally rapes and tortures, then attempts to kill a white post-grad student in her New York apartment and media coverage barely goes above the radar -- and the victim is not even identified as being white, which she is.
Both events were regrettable, of course. However, looking at how fairly media performed, makes me that justice may not be blind after all, but instead deaf and dumb.
National media's not going to pick up on every NYC story, especially not with last week's events in Virginia. Stop pouring salt on your wounds, the zombie cowboy will ride again.

i could be wrong but is your post intimating that you believe that all black men commit heinous crimes happening in the world?
all white men aren't morally bankrupt like richard nixon, ken lay, gordon liddy, bernie ebbers, adolf hitler, ted bundy, timothy mcveigh, jim jones -- to name a few.
they committed their acts -- some immoral, some criminal-- as individuals and so did this loser.
#3, NYer: You want to get angry and know about a politically incorrect murder that the mainstream press has just completely ignored? One that it has done its best not to mention or give it the kind of publicity that it reserves for racial epithets? Think about this.
This month there was a couple murdered by 5 carjackers in Maryland. Both, the man and the woman were raped. Both! Then the man had his penis caught off, hung from a tree and shot three times while his girlfriend was forced to watch. She was then tortured and raped for three more days. After that their bodies were dismembered and burned.
Why isn't this horror all over the news? Is it because the MSM wants to protect the underprivileged perpetrators from the big white lynch mob? I just don't know.

Seriously! Go look. Sure, there could be a conspiracy among some in the mainstream media, but do you really think Nancy Grace would have let that pass her by. Do you think Michelle Malkin or the other more respected right wing bloggers would have let it pass? I'm sending this BS to snopes.
