While I am happy to see him hitting some clutch homers in April, I think the media and fans were justifiably critical of a highly-paided, highly hyped player who did nothing when it really mattered...October.

SP, what statistics are those? Try running them again, but limiting your data to players who are ridiculously overpaid. Since he obviously cared so much about the team and the fans in Texas, is it so much of a stretch to think he's more motivated by a chance to make more $$ than a chance to win one for the city?

Hudson, though he's carried the team so far this season, Rodriguez is only one player. With his ridiculous salary, he needs to perform in the postseason, but it's unfair to demand a championship from him alone.

Also - I had no idea that its October already and its the postseason. Make no mistake - if you're going to take on a hilariously ridiculous salary for a player, there's only one acceptable outcome - Championship. With that said... Go team! No pressure!

Let's not forget Rodriguez is in a walk year basically - he can leave the Yankees after this season and he can look for a bigger contract. Usually the last year of a contract players suddenly do what they were paid to do as opposed to just padding their numbers.
