You know the type, Anytime they see something their telling someone else what they saw . That's the type of person you have to worry about . I feel saddened as a young black man, the nonsense folks that are supposed to be looked up to by our youths are spreading. No wonder the crime rate in most black populated areas is off the hook. I personally feel safer in a white hood anyday, and its due to folks like Mr camron. What ever happened to the slogan,"If you can serve the time, don't commit the crime". I have to go through my kids album collection and make sure, she doesn't have any of the fools junk.

I'd report on a serial-killer neighbor all day. That said, Cam'ron is right that his audience probably mostly sees the law incarcerating people for next-to-nothing, rather than effectively righting wrongs and enforcing community standards. Doesn't the justice system bear the responsibility to earn trust a little better if "Stop Snitching" is part of an ethics code to so many people?

I think you all are missing the point here . The whole "Snitching rule" Has to do with intentionally dropping dime on another person in a malicious way . In other words, If you see something that may be criminal but you have no real evidence and you "snitch", That's wrong . The proper way too "snitch" on someone (IF you really have to)would be if the situation affects you . Example; Would be if your building is being overrun by drug dealers and the quality of life is being affected . Overall, Nobody likes a snitch because it has to do with trust ! If a person is a known snitch, Or things happen when that person just happens to be around . It makes it very difficult for those around the snitch to feel comfortable in sharing conversations with that person . Bottomline, If you want to lead the life of a snitch you better be very careful who you snitch on ! It could come back to haunt you in the future .

The one thing I couldn't get over was the dude who saw Romona Moore alive, but raped and severely beaten, in the cellar of the guys who eventually killed her and didn't call the police. He probably feared for his own life, but who the hell could live with that? These kinds of cover-ups happen in all kinds of communities, but to say that you'd move away from your serial killer neighbor without alerting the authorities that you knew he was there is pretty goddamned reprehensible.

what cam'ron said is somewhat disheartening but i don't find it that shocking or repulsive. many many people break the law one way or another, set up shady business deals in cash, etc etc and their friends, family, and neighbors don't turn them in because it's regarded as socially acceptable. a serial killer might be a different thing, but getting shot at or selling drugs is a part of some bad neighborhoods....we should try to change that but that doesn't mean the answer is having everyone snitch on each other
