Pencil This In
MOVIE: One Ring Zero is a lit-rock fans dream come true. The band features Paul Auster, Jonathan Lethem, Dave Eggers and Margaret Atwood’s lyrics set to the music of trumpets, theremins, claviolas, and metallophones. Director Joe Pacheco captured the band on film and presents it now as a documentary, As Smart As They Are: The Author Project. Here's a song/video with lyrics by Michael Chabon:

EVENT: Lawrence Ferlinghetti, co-owner of SF's City Lights Books, Poet Laureate, and a key figure in the Beat movement in the 50s, is at the 92nd St Y tonight. He has written over 30 books of poetry, including: A Coney Island of the Mind and A Far Rockaway of the Heart.

THEATER: Rajiv Joseph’s new play Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo is described as a “darkly comedic drama about two American soldiers, a talking tiger and an Iraqi translator who roam the doomed streets of Baghdad.” After its run at the Lark Theatre, the show will transfer to Queens Theatre in the Park for performances beginning April 26th. MUSIC: At posting time, tickets are still on sale for another benefit show for Callum Robbins. The show features Bob Mould, Harmony Rockets (Feat. members of Mercury Rev) Radio 4 and Annuals, and was organized by Interpol's Sam Fogarino. Callum's dad, J, keeps a blog and in the last entry included:
"Finally: I can't talk about the new chair, or the trips to Mississippi and Seattle, without once again thanking everyone who has helped us make these things happen through benefit efforts and personal donations. We could not have done these things - certainly not so effectively and immediately - without your help."
