Thank you for noticing, but I'm afraid the extra attention towards correct spelling and proper grammar caused me to overlook the lack of a functioning link in that Sharpton item. This is the story I was referring to and it is titled "After Imus, Sharpton Turns to Hip-Hop Industry". The lede reads as follows: After playing a prominent role in the firing of Don Imus by MSNBC and CBS Radio, the Rev. Al Sharpton said he's now turning his attention to the music industry, specifically Hip-Hop that often uses lyrics that are racist and demeaning to women.

The only people who notice radical politicos at Columbia are the radical politicos. It's a popularity contest like everything else. Thanks for making it seem like more, NYMag. The big protest, btw, was a wash and if you really think that college-aged leftists are beyond the self-handicapping of identity politics, apparently you missed out on the last Queer Sophomores of Color Against the War meeting. Dumb kids couldn't agree on one damn thing.

Clarification: AL Sharpton is not now moving onto hip-hop. He has actually been involved in numerous protests against violent and sexist hip-hop for years. And as with Whatever, congratulations on avoiding spelling and grammatical errors.

Huh? Your posting says that Jennifer Rubell is the daughter of the late club impressario Steve Rubell, but the link says she's his niece. On the plus side, there were no spelling mistakes.
