- Islanders 3, Devils 2 (SO): Improbable as it may seem, the Islanders have made the playoffs. All it took was four straight wins in their final four games, and do that while third-string goalie Wade Dubielewicz logged significant time. No one will remember that they blew a 2-0 lead in Sunday's game, and the Islanders earned a crack at the conference's best team, the Buffalo Sabres.
- Orioles 6, Yankees 4: They couldn't repeat the late-inning magic from Saturday, but the Yankees did have a reprise of their lousy starting pitching through the first week. Darrell Rasner looked decent at times, but that ended when he gave up a three-run homer to Paul Bako. Only one starter for the Yankees has lasted five innings, and he wore sunglasses and gave up seven runs. That's Kei Igawa. They should feel lucky to be 2-3 as they start their season's first road trip.
- Braves 3, Mets 2: Remember when the Mets couldn't beat the Braves? Oh, that was only two seasons ago? Those times may be back, at least in the first week of the season. After rocking Atlanta on Friday, the Mets lost two straight, including this one Sunday. Aaron Heilman takes the blame on this one -- he allowed two runs in the eighth to squander Orlando Hernandez's start.

that's right - all you haters! The Islanders made it (of course, we'll lose), but at least we made it afterall.
Sadly, they may not get on TV easily here, as the Devils and Rangers play on the same nights. Shouldn't they have prevented against that?!
Go Sabres!
all three teams have played on the same night before - MSG, MSG2 and FSNY should carry these games
While still having Knicks, Nets, Mets and Yankees games going on? Aside from football, all these teams could play at the same time (I'd have to check a schedule, but possible). In that case, the isles would most certainly get the shaft. the only thigns for them is that they play the #1 Sabres, and perhaps Versus will pick that up! (ugh, versus)
