We've never been one to discount the voice of the little guy in politics, but we are still wondering how many other media outlets were knocking down doorman Gregory Smith's, er, door to get his political views, in order for the Post to trumpet its scoop as an exclusive. The article is actually about how rank-and-file former-faithful Clintonites are abandoning Hillary, just as she's making her run for the Presidency. Gregory Smith, for one, is a voter who has turned his support to Democratic candidate Barack Obama.
He says he has dumped the Clintons for the upstart Democratic senator from Illinois, whom he calls "a needed breath of fresh ideas and openness."The doorman told The Post that Hillary Clinton's flip-flop on the war and her earlier coyness about her presidential ambitions have turned him off her - probably forever.
The Post does mention that despite the front-page defection of one now-high profile supporter, Clinton still leads Obama by ten percentage points in national polls and 30 percentage points in polls of New Yorkers.
All we know is that if the New York Post continues to splash its polls-of-one articles on its front page, it is going to be a very long election season.

I had the same exact reaction, though I expressed it in words more like "The hell?!"
black guy voting for another black guy
Yet another reason not to read the Post.
It's ironic that Hillary probably grew up imagining herself as "the upstart Democratic senator from Illinois." Now she's the distrusted establishment figure people are looking to to overthrow by that newcomer. Poor Hillary! Where did it all go wrong?
