It's fun with poll numbers time! Quinnipiac University released results of a poll that shows Senator Hillary Clinton besting former Mayor Rudy Giuliani 50-42 in New York State. Here are the match-ups Quinnipiac asked about:
- Clinton beats Sen. John McCain 55-34 percentQuinnipiac's Polling Institute director Maurice Carroll noted that New York is "still a blue state" and wonders if Clinton and Giuliani will bother coming for the primary in February, since they'll do well. And if you're wondering about former Vice President Al Gore and Law & Order actor (and former Senator) Fred Thompson's chances, Caroll said Gore is tied with Obama while Thompson "is doing almost as well as multi-millionaire Mitt Romney."
- Giuliani ties Illinois Sen. Barack Obama 44 - 44 percent
- 2004 vice presidential candidate John Edwards tops Giuliani 47 - 43 percent;
- Clinton over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 61 - 26 percent;
- Obama beats McCain 47 - 36 percent;
- Edwards over McCain 52 - 34 percent;
- Obama beats Romney 53 - 23 percent;
- Edwards tops Romney 59 - 21 percent.
The Sun has a fun article about the "presidential Hamlets" - people who say they aren't running yet are contenders in polls (think Mayor B!). And there's lots of Giuliani-related news: former Governor Pataki says Giuliani or McCain as Republican candidate would fine with him, others think Giuliani's abortion stance will be trouble for him within the Republican party, and the former Mayor will definitely quit Giuliani Partners to concentrate on the campaign.

Hillary Leads Rudy in New York? In other news, the sky is blue.

Who are these people who think Hilary Clinton will make a good president? Seriously. Based on what?
Who are these people that think Rudy would make a better president than Hillary?
Seriously who believes a guy who is exploiting 9/11 to be president a serious candidate?
Great debate skills, Rickster. Answer a question with a question.
I have said many times that nobody knows what Hillary stands for other than doing the popular thing which is to bash the current President. It might make her popular but it does little to sell her as a candidate for higher office. If I want to hear people bash Bush I can log onto a blog.
What further worries me about Hillary is that the other day she said we should bring the troops home because it was the "will of the people". Sorry, but we don't elect officials to do what we want; we elect them to do what is in our best interest. Do you really want foreign policy dictated by what a mostly uninformed public "wants"? If she thinks the troops should come home because she thinks our interests are betting served then she should say so. If she is going to rule by poll numbers like her husband did then we should be worried.
The world was a much different place in the 1990s. When Bill Clinton took office in 1993 the Soviet Union had collapsed and the US was the only superpower. China and India had a fraction of the economic power they have now. Oil hit a low of like $10 a barrel in the 1990s. The Russians defaulted on their debt in 1998. Now they are swimming in oil dollars and using gas supplies as a weapon.
And as far as terrorism goes, it hardly matters if we leave Iraq. Most of the candidates have said they would keep troops deployed in the other "friendly" Gulf states. So we were targets before 9/11 for having troops in Saudi Arabia. I hardly see this as an improvement.

Hey Metro,
How about you come up with three distinct events and not just three terms to evoke the same one.
"How about you come up with three distinct events and not just three terms to evoke the same one."
She and her impeached/disbarred husband pardoned more terrorists than they ever killed.
She and her impeached/disbarred husband:
did nothing after the 1993 WTC attack;
And they did nothing after the 2 bombings of U.S. embassys in Africa;
And they did nothing after the bombings of U.S troops in Kobar Towers.
And they did nothing after Mogadishu, and nothing after the attack on the U.S.S Cole.
She and her impeached/disbarred husband had Arafat, the "father of modern muslim terrorism" visiting the WH more than ANY OTHER FOREIGN VISITOR.
She never went to ONE NYFD OR NYPD FUNERAL AFTER 9/11.
The woman is an oportunist and a danger to America.
I am no fan of Rudy for a variety of reasons, but ABC:
ANYONE BUT CLINTON.

Point proven. Thanks and good day.
