FBI Agent Killed By "Friendly Fire" In NJ

About 53 miles outside of New York City, FBI agents were working with state and local authorities to track down a group that had robbed a series of banks in central New Jersey. Yesterday afternoon, during a confrontation with the automatic weapons-carrying robbers outside a PNC Bank in Readington, NJ, an FBI agent was killed by gunfire. And it seems the gunfire was from other federal agents.

The FBI only confirmed that 52-ear-old Special Agent Barry Lee Bush had died and that "preliminarily, information suggests the agent may have been fatally wounded as a result of the accidental discharge of another agent's weapon during a dynamic arrest situation." According to the Daily News, Bush was in a car that was trying to block a suspect, and an agent getting out of another vehicle "accidentally" fired his rifle. The bullet hit Bush in the armpit, where the bulletproof vest did not protect him.

The authorities managed to arrest two of the robbers, but they are still looking for a third robber, Francisco Herrera-Genao, who is considered armed and dangerous. The men frequently fired their assault weapons into the ceilings of banks, which led to the presence of a SWAT team, and after the shooting, hundreds of law enforcement officials swarmed the surrounding area to find Herrera-Genao.

Bush is the first FBI agent killed since September 11, 2001 and the first to be fatally shot in 10 years. He testified in the trial of Al Qaeda's 1998 bombing of the American Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania as well as the trial of anti-abortion activist James C. Kopp.

ah, you know you're in good hands when you see forensic investigators scouring the crime scene with their hands in their pockets.

Been watching a lot of CSI lately huh?

the third guy was captured this AM about 200 yards from Congoo.com corporate headquarters

The only people involved in this incident armed with "automatic weapons" are the law enforcement officers. The criminals were armed with semi-automatic rifles. No one involved is armed with an "assault weapon", an "assault weapon" is a man-portable breaching device such as a LAW rocket or Bangalore torpedo. An assault rifle is a small calibre (7.62mm or smaller), select-fire, military rifle or carbine. Please try to stop contributing to the Socialist, New World Order, anti-freedom, gun hating paranoia that seems to infect those that dwell in northern cities.

Jen Chung like to sensationalize events the way Fox News does. "Pistols" becomes "assault weapons". "H3 Hummer" becomes "10,000lb killer machine".

I think they shot the WRONG F@CKING BUSH.

Too bad.

Hmmm, sounds as though some don't understand what a gun or firearm is...it is a tool, just like a hammer, a saw, a knife or a crowbar. If you don't use the "tool" properly, or lack the adequate training, you or someone else can get hurt. So, if the bad guys have firearms, who will protect the innocent from them? A misinformed person who is afraid of guns because they don't know how to use them, or would rather reason with the bad guys?! C'mon, get real, guns are necessary and have been for hundreds of years. More people are killed by drunk drivers each year than are killed with guns. A law abiding, gun wielding citizen has stopped many a crime.

"a gun is a gun is a gun and there is no reason that anybody needs one"

don't you remember what happened when Superman gathered up all of the nuclear weapons and hurled them into the sun?

its so pathetic how some news was saying, an fbi agent died in a gun battle! come on. there was no gun battle, only the scared cops opened fire after the first cop accidentely shot the other cop.
