...we're intrigued how he had enough money of his own to buy a ticket (credit card, probably?)

Some people in this world have jobs and save money, despite not having gone to Ivy League schools and living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

When I was 17, I earned $25/hour, which is less than what I make now, some 20 years later.

I'm also intrigued of how he got a ticket to the U.S. I'd wish stories like these give more details.
what about customs? where did he get the money?
Must of cost him a pretty pound.
The short version, He's rich and spoiled.
I'd bet he'd taken the concorde if it was still in service.

oh, the cadets are moving? so sad. i used to live near there. it was so adorable watching them all, in big groups and carrying their heavy bags, stand at a 'don't walk' crosswalk when no cars were coming. awww. no one will see this in Queens!
