- Islanders 3 Rangers 2 (Shootout): Their playoff hopes may be on life-support, but at least the Islanders didn’t have to see their arch-rivals clinch their own spot in the postseason in person.
Both team played furiously, which resulted in a wide-open game with both team combining for 72 shots. The Islanders built a 2-0 lead off of a strange deflection and a goal by Satan. The Rangers battled back with a strange deflection of their own and the tying goal from Michael Nylander.
Neither team could score in overtime, despite each having a power play chance and it went to the shootout. Satan scored and then the Islanders won when Wade Dubielewicz just poked away Jaromir Jagr’s shot.
The Islanders are four points out of a playoff spot with three games left while the Rangers are tied for sixth with two games remaining.
- Mets 4 Cardinals 1: El Duque pitched and hit his way to a victory. Leading 2-0, El Duque drove in two runs with a RBI-double in the sixth. For the night, Hernandez went 2-for-3 and pitched 7 innings allowing only 1 run.
- Devils 2 Ottawa 1 (Shootout): Lou Lamoriello is back behind the bench and resumed his coaching career with a win. John Madden netted the eventual winner in the shootout.
- Tennessee 56 Rutgers 44: The Vols captures their seventh National Championship ending the Lady Knights’ dream season.

Though they have no real shot here, even if they do somehow manage to sneak into the playoffs:
LETS GO ISLANDERS!
