Subway riders from Inwood to the Rockaways should steel themselves, because those delays they experienced yesterday were planned and should continue for the next five weekends. The A and C lines are undergoing track work to replace 70-year-old rails.
Over the long term this should result in smoother rides and safer service. But over the short term expect no C trains between Upper Manhattan and Brooklyn's Euclid Ave. on Saturdays and Sundays. The A train will run local until mid-May, but not at all between Utica Ave. and Jay St. in Brooklyn. WNBC reports that shuttle buses will be provided as an alternative to the A and C in some locations.

at first, the headline can be read as air conditioning on the fritz, and when coupled with the subway photo, implies even greater levels of disastrous conditions on the A/C train
I think that was intentional, Jeff S, and actually pretty clever.
the shuttle buses are PACKED! i felt sorry for the poor sardines as i saw them hurtling down Atlantic Avenue. when you think about how many people ride the A/C train... packed on relatively small MTA buses, UGH! Thankfully I can walk to wherever I need to go, or in a pinch take the G train downtown, OR, walk to the intersection of Lafayette & Fulton and hop on a less crowded bus.
Hey "Bedstuy " Clamp down with the "G" train talk ! You stick to your line with it's fucked up service and leave own line alone . We have enough issues with service and don't need extra people riding the "G" . Hell they only give us [4] Cars per train, & half ass service !!!! Lol. Besides, The MTA has a habit of slipping in some of those "Good" buses when they enable shuttle bus service . I'm not talking about the Hybrid buses, I'm talking about the buses they use in the city on the crosstown lines i.e( M66,M72,M86,M96) . I've probably noticed some of those buses are clean,With carpeted seats , Those are the ones .
