- The newly re-opened Blind Tiger is opening for brunch this weekend at 11:30 a.m. After Monday their new regular hours will be 11:30 a.m. until 4:00 a.m, and the kitchen will stay open until 2:00 a.m. In addition, they're having a grand re-opening bash on Monday, April 2nd at 7:00 p.m. Once again, welcome back -- we missed you.
- Craig Wilson and Robert Meller, the team behind Tasca, have opened their second restaurant. That was quick. Central Kitchen is a self-proclaimed brasserie, but the menu is fairly expansive, ranging from a raw bar, to banh mi, to a delectable-sounding suckling pig sandwich, to more traditional steak frites, to a chicken-fried steak and grits special on Mondays. In addition to bar and dining room seating, Central Kitchen will have an outdoor seating area for 120. Through Sunday, April 8th, they're offering a 10% preview discount on the food portion of your bill. 134 Seventh Ave. South near West 10th Street, 212-352-2230.

- Just in time for Passover, a new food blog, The Jew and the Carrot, hits the scene. Covering Jews, food and sustainability issues, it is run by
the non-profit environmental group, Hazon. They've recently posted an interview with Michael Pollan and tips on how to host a sustainable seder.
