SCIENCE: The UnCoolKids always know about all the best science events. Tonight is The Revolution in Physics at the Turn of the 20th Century, featuring “a presentation by Richard Liboff, Distinguished Professor of Physics, University of Central Florida, formerly Professor of applied physics, applied mathematics, and electrical engineering at Cornell University, author of the best- selling college text book, Introductory Quantum Mechanics, featured in “Spider-Man 2" movie.”
5:30pm // NYPL, Science, Industry and Business Library [188 Madison Ave at 34th St] // Free
THEATER: The eccentric British theater troupe Rotozaza embraces their inner control freak with two works called Doublethink and Five in the Morning. Both shows are here for blink-and-miss runs at P.S. 122; both feature unrehearsed guest performers following orders from recorded voices. Doublethink, which opens tonight, involves two participants carrying out the same instructions on either side of a divider. They can't see each other but the audience can fully examine their varying behavior. “Through increasing virtuoso and sleight of hand, the guests seemingly gain control; it becomes difficult to know where the commands are coming from or indeed, where the power lies.” - John Del Signore
8pm // P.S. 122 [150 First Ave] // Tickets cost $20
MUSIC: Sebastien Grainger and The Jealous Girlfriends are at the (still sort of new) Luna Lounge tonight. We loved the former in his now defunct band Death From Above 1979 and are curious to hear his solo stuff live (check out some songs at the above link).
8pm // Luna Lounge [361 Metropolitan Ave, Williamsburg] // $10
COMEDY: Get Psyched! tonight with Dr. Lanny Latham and Adira Amram. Guests include: Heather Fink, Roger Hailes, Adam Newman and Sara Schaefer. Here's your intro in to getting PSYCHED!
8pm // Rififi [332 East 11th St] // $5
