Is beating up a 14-year-old a new low in irrational rap rivalries gone worse? On Saturday, rapper Tony Yayo, who is also a member of 50 Cent's G-Unit, turned himself into police. Yayo and some other men were accused of assaulting a 14-year-old boy on 25th Street. And it wasn't just any regular 14-year-old boy - the boy happened to be the son of Jimmy "Henchman" Rosemond, head of a rival music management company Czar Entertainment, and the boy was wearing a shirt with a Czar logo on it.
On Tuesday night, the rappers were leaving their record company on West 25th when they saw the boy. According to the Post, Yayo, aka Marvin Bernard, asked how old the boy was, and when he responded, Yayo said, "I don't give a f*** how old you are - F*** Czar Entertainment!." Plus, another man held out a gun as Yayo "made sure the victim knew who he was before taking off." The boy also reportedly said he saw 50 Cent in the SUV, though 50's lawyer says the rapper was not in NY State during the incident.
The boy's mother Cynthia Reed told All Hip Hop, "As a mother I am concerned that my son, who is a fan of hip-hop, would be attacked by the same artist whose music he listens to. It's a shame that 50 Cent and Tony Yayo could feel comfortable slapping and physically attacking an innocent 14-year-old minor that they market and promote their records to." (All Hip-Hop on the G-Unit's beef with Rosemond.)
Yayo was released on $5,000 bail.

Obviously this was caused by white people, so black people should boycott Old Navy and send me donations.
*If the city’s black advocates paid even a tiny fraction of the attention they pay to shootings by criminals as they pay to shootings by police, they could change the face of the city. If demonstrators gathered outside the jail cell of every rapist and teen stick-up thug, cameras in tow, to shame them for their attacks on law-abiding minority residents, they could deglamorize the gangsta life.*

What is it with all the racist commenters on this site?
Whatever the hell your point is supposed to be, fake Al, you are just inciting arguments that none of us really want to read.
this is not a productive line of discussion.
what a waste of police resources. the cops should just let these piece of shit, wanna-be gangster, rap "stars" kill each other. it's what they really want to do – why stand in the way?
Heather MacDonald has a weird looking mouth.
Perhaps a cleft lip correction. But I'm sure conservatives consider her sexy.
Guns don't kill people, rappers do.
Nothing racist has been said. Where are you getting the racist comments out of any of this?
Can people just stop kicking the shit out of and shooting each other ALL THE DAMN TIME!? Are these adults or giant toddlers? It's like how a baby handles conflict.
Will hockey players stop fighting and trying to kill each other?
What example is this for our children when they see their favorite player assualted with a sharp blade and unconscious on the ice.
Please, do it for the children.
I agree, adults are like giant children.
I for one am glad to see that old women and young children are no longer getting a free ride in our culture of violence. If you wanna live in the big city, you gotta take your lumps like everyone else, just like in the good 'ol days. If you don't like it, stay in daycare or move to a retirement community.
Comparing what's allowed in hockey to people toting guns and beating up children (or anyone for that matter) for wearing rival record label t-shirts is just mental illness at its best.
While the fighting in hockey seems excessive and personal on some levels sometimes, a day does not go by that we're not hearing of some rapper or thug blasting another for wearing the wrong threads or saying the wrong thing.
Heather MacDonald may be a conservative, but dems and libs together agree she has made some fantastic points about this bullshit unnecessary violence that no one in the poor “under privileged” communities will take responsibility for. Blaming whites and the rich whether they're rich blacks, whites, Latinos or Asians is getting stale.
The word today and everyday is accountability, look it up and brand it into your brain. Take some accountability for your life and actions and stop blaming the world around you when it's not going your way. The world’s not racist just because you are and the world’s not racist just because valid points are made...
Or if you’re not willing to take accountability, then take the punishment that goes along with your irresponsibility actions and leave it at that. If you make a mistake, it’s your fault and you will learn from it, if you make the same mistake, your stupid.
I have to say that I agree somewhat that someone should take a stand to these gangsta rappers when they do things like this. The music industry will probably still promote this guy and I wouldn't be shocked if they used this incident to sell some albums. But if it was a cop who beat up Tony Yo-Yo then Sharpton would come out and start a riot.. why not a riot against what just happened? Somethings wrong here.
I wish I could remember the name of a doc that I was watching on the current state of the hip hop community (degrading women, hating homosexuality, promoting and rewarding violence). It was really a great work done by an intelligent black man with a camera and some good questions that no one would answer.
It's contagious, Fighting has now infected the sport of Lacrosse. First Hockey, then Lacrosse.
What sport will be next?
#13:
I think it's clear that basketball is a victim as well.
"Fighting has now infected the sport of Lacrosse. First Hockey, then Lacrosse. What sport will be next?"
Such a silly question. Of course pairs' figure skating will be next. As if no one can see that coming. No ones else can demonstrate the violence such a sport can incur than Will Farrell and that other guy from Napoleon Dynamite.
You gotta admit, no one saw fighting in Lacrosse.
But, somehow within it's first week of it's inaugaural season, there was one.
Must be a record of the earliest fight for a new spectator sport.
Basketball was mainly trash talking. But, that's common in all sports.
Fighting is infectous, first hockey then on to Lacrosse.
It's funny how he uses the word "predicate felon" like black people know the word "predicate". "felon" on the other hand....
big man you are, there
beating up a 14-year old kid
now i'm not gonna say that hip hop causes violence
just like religion and professional sports don't directly cause violence
however, there do happen to be a lot of violent people in the world
and there are definitely certain scenes where violence is markedly more prominent than others
my point: I'm so glad that the music I listen to isn't so intertwined with violence like hip hop is. How many people get murdered or assaulted over rival techno labels? How many people have been killed in the name of competing scientific theories or different atheistic worldviews?
Now this is just stupid ! Well like I said "Nigga's will be Nigga's" ! Wow just think of all the money this cat makes off the sales of his music . With that in mind he's willing to just throw it away just like like that .
Kill all that black people are stupid stuff. Some blacks are dumb, just like some whites, Asians and any other race. People always throwing around the race card, be easy.
{Go yayo!!!!!!!!!!!!!}
