Video of the Day: Billionaires for Bush - and the War

While there were many protesters yesterday demanding that the war end, some protesters were actually supportive of the President. And those protesters were the Billionaires for Bush. Videographer Kelly Loudenberg followed Alan Greenspend Rob DePoor and his crew around.

I've never seen someone smile so big under a sign ending in "DEATH!"

why'd someone drag brecht into this?

    Activism. How quaint.

  • Agree with Scott

B4B needs to hang it up. Get over yourselves, billionaires. Their message has no weight or impact anymore. After the 2004 loss, why would anyone continue parading around with this band of theatre clowns?

  • Patriot of what? Greenland

This isn't the media. genius. It's a blog about New York. No wonder nobody takes conservatives seriously.

Humor is a very effective tool in making a political statement.

This reminds me of Jon Stewart and (especially) Stephen Colbert and why they are both so successful and so admired.

  • [5], I actually don't know much about Brecht at all, but none of the four comments preceding yours seem to indicate that B4B is anything but a satirical anti-war group. [1] says so explicitly. [2] says no-duh. [3] lumps them in with what are characterized as clueless and naive anti-war people. [4](me) thought their humor approach was a welcome change from more strident anti-war protestors.

You're right; it is clear from the clip. And everyone gets it.

    These guys are so 2004.

  • "Patriot", Did you counter-protest or just not the "Liberal Media Bias"??

  • Jason

Um, B4B are a well-known group of liberal folks who go around satirizing Bush and Cheney and Halliburton. Isn't it clear from the clip? Do you people know *anything* about Brecht? Jeez guys c'mon!!

  • I talked to some of the B4B people in Central Park where they were gathered during the RNC in '04. Unlike most of the protestors I spoke with, the B4Bs were very pleasant and totally lacking the stridency that turns most people off when listening to protestors, even when one agrees with them. Glad to see they're keeping at it.

  • Patriot

Where's the coverage for the counter-protest? So much for the impartial reporting. Liberal media only has coverage of clueless and naive protestors.

  • Dude

#1 Thanks for the head's up, Mr. Obvious.

  • Paycheck to paycheck

Billionaires for Bush is a satire.
