The station and the new Garden should be built.
The building is sitting there, looking great [only on the 8th Avenue side] and contributing nothing.
The new train station and the new Garden will totally be built within the current building's walls.
The front 1/2 of the building is the landmark with the in-need-of-care post office and lobby ...
the western half of the building is basically a warehouse and mostly unused postal truck depot, geared for the days 75 years ago when the PO sent most of its mail to the tracks below.
The move across 8th Avenue by the Garden will open up the 7th Avenue side for new development ... plans for which will open up the underground Penn Station to light it hasen't seen in 40 years.

>>>Today we learn from the Daily News that the long-brewing sale of the James A. Farley General Post Office by the city to the state should be accomplished this spring.

That old gag?

The Moyn is dead, no matter how much money goes where.

They already ruined one Penn Station in the name of MSG and "commerce." Don't let them do it again! The whole point of this is to right the monstrous wrong that was the demolition of the first Penn station.
