I had an Oriel Chardonnay at a restaurant, and our server mentioned they had a couple more by this cool new company. We said sure! From USA we moved to Tuscany --DELICIOUS Sangiovese, (which I had never heard of or tried before). They also poured us one glass of the Oriel French dessert wine...absolutely Heaven!!! I will always try Oriel.

I actually have tried many many Oriel wines. First, you clearly have toknow what you are tasting. Based on the Gigondas mentioned, I already know I do notlike wines from Gigondas, but I did NOT know how much I was going to LOVE a wine from Priorat.
I find that Oriel wines are a great way to introduce oneself to wines of the world if you are not familiar.
One thing is for sure, one cannot make a good wine from bad grapes and if a person is not educated enough to pick the right vineyard, they may be turned off by a bad production. That happened to me many years ago. I had a bad Pinot Noir and thought I didnt like pInot Noir at all....was I sadly mistaken and; and POOR Pinot Noir,....I basterdized the entire varietal based on one bad experience.
Another thing I learned about Oriel is that they don't produce a wine in a bad vintage....makes sense!
Im a huge fan and I look forward to more wines they produce! Not to ALSO mention how awesome the back of the bottle.....why doesn't EVERY winery do this????
