It's "cheese eating surrender monkeys".
I'm sure after what happened to its daughter-restaurant DeMarco's this week, Di Fara is viewing this temporary close as the smallest deal ever. Still, tough week.
I loved Di Fara's when I was there three weeks ago (and didn't even mind the 1.5 hours wait), but it can't be that surprising to hear it got nailed in the DoH shitstorm. 40 years of crust all over the ovens, Dom handling the money and handling the pizzas without washing up, no hats...all of those are big no-nos.
Not that I'm complaining or that any of that took away from the experience of hanging out at the counter, eating stuffed zucchini flowers while waiting for my pie to get conjured up. So good.
Queens granny basher (not bronx). Right?
I wonder what a US Navy Commander in Mess Dress is doing crossing the street in the middle of Times Square...
"Is Jet Blue the French surrender monkey of airlines?"
French surrender monkey? Did you make that up? Sounds like some kind of insider gothamist terminology to me.
