"Gay American" McGreevey Wants Child Support
We can't figure this out! Apparently former NJ Governor James McGreevey wants custody of daughter Jacqueline AND child support from ex-wife Dina Matos. The last time we checked, McGreevey was living in a 17-room mansion with his boyfriend Mark O'Donnell, a financier. And he wrote a book that could pay some of the bills, we think.
According to the Star-Ledger, Matos makes $82,000 as the executive director of the Columbus Hospital Foundation. She has over a month to respond to the filing, but McGreevey friend, NJ State Senator Ronald Lesniak said, "Obviously, the settlement discussions aren't going too well." You think?
In January, it was announced that Hyperion Books would release a book from Matos. From the press release:

Gay or straight, McGreevey is an asshole.
He was probably still better than average democratic politician in NJ.
Corrupt of course, and hired his gay friend as director of homeland security but the other guys (Menendez, Corzine) are even worse and more corrupt. Anyway, they are perfect match for NJ. NJ voters truly deserve these clowns.
His book is ranked around 23,000 in sales on amazon, so this might be why he is trying to get his wife to pay his bills.
This douchebag only announced he was a "gay American" after it became obvious he was about an inch from being indicted for financial irregularities.
Talk about mis-direction.
The real sad aspect to all of this is years from now when their daughter or her friends begin reading all these news archives about her parents lives.
Years ago, you could break from the past and start all over, but now everything about your life and your family can be discovered anytime search engines.
Have a feeling many more people will be changing their names to avoid being haunted constantly by their past.
This is a complicated story.
Is he kidding? He's demonstrated an utter lack of ant kind of credibility at every turn. After what he did you his wife, he wants to take thier kid too? What a slime ball.He gives gay people everywhere a bad name. I'm totally embarrasssed by him

There is a support group for straight spouses - unlike McGreevey, my ex did not come out of the closet. The straight spouse network (www.straightspouse.org) literally saved my sanity after 4 years of my ex trying to prove me unfit to care for our sons so that he could have custody and then "allow" me to do the real work of raising them, all while paying him support. (My ex took me all the way to the appellate, where he was told to stop playing games. I kept custody and today he enjoys as good a relationship with the now young adult kids as is possible.)
There are so many of us out here. This guy is no poster boy for gay fathers, he is a disaster of a human being. If he cares so much about kids, what about the billions of dollars wasted to build schools on toxic waste dumps with his "school construction corp". He is only interested in how others benefit him.
My guess is that his wife finally took charge of her life outside his shadow, and he can't stand not being able to control her actions. I am looking forward to reading her story - I expect there will be many commonalities with others who share this unfortunate deception.
