- Today on the Gothamist Newsmap: a fatal fall victim in Gramercy Park, a demonstration at City Hall, and an unusual animal rescue on the Brooklyn Bridge ("ESU IS O/S WITH A DOG THAT IS STUCK IN THE GIRDER ON THE WALK WAY OF THE BRIDGE... ESU IS REPORTING THE DOG HAS BEEN REMOVED, NO CONDITION GIVEN ON THE CANINE." --BNN),
- Congrats to shadowy Brooklyn graffiti artist Ellis G-- he got married in Northhampton this past weekend-- where he was spotted by the long arm of New York blog coverage.
- The Sean Bell grand jury may be coming close to making a ruling-- they just recalled the lieutenant in charge of the undercover operation for a second grilling.
- Beautiful skyline shot by Trevor Little, taken from Newark looking towards the city.
- Is this Fox5 poster the most hated ad on the subway? You be the judge.
- Two weeks after the Starrett City deal was tossed out by the Feds, it appears to be coming back to life.
- And attention, shoppers: there's a huge flock of geese wandering around in Williamsburg-- are they edible?

Enough with the graffiti, sheesh. www.graffitist.com already.
bob, i, for one, love that gothamist covers graffiti stories, and that it is not covered much in mainstream media is even more reason to post it on gothamist
Yup. I hate that subway ad too!
i can't wait to hack your board and put up my own special "piece"
I bet you would like it as much as building owners!
OH THE IRONY.
no i wouldn't do that. But really...
i think that because the gothamist is constantly going about how cool graffitti and "street art" is someone should hack their board, put up a piece that says "pwnd" and see how they damn well like it.
I think the line is definitely is definitely drawn (or painted, if you will) between beautiful (albeit unauthorized) work in public space vs. shitty tags with a sharpie here on gothamist.
if the board was replaced with a semi-transparent, beautiful, well-done or clever, it would be appreciated by the editors of this website.
then again, it is not hard to see how a building, especially a large, ugly stucco surface, is different from a website.
those geese in williamsburg are probably trying to find some pbr, trucker hats, and th strokes!!! oh man tat's good stuff.
