More useless BS and time that could be spent on important things. Way to go city council. You continue to be a farce. The safety issue is, maybe, that kids who have skills will catch the ball. While other inept kids who probably should not be playing a sport get killed because they can't manage to catch or avoid a ball. There is a slower version of the game called slow pitch Softball. That should be were the kids who can't catch or avoid a ball should play. Lets pussify the world and make everything safe for the lowest common denominator. Not everybody can do everything. One must know their limitations. Even coddled little kids who think they are so special and gifted in every thing because thats what they keep being told. No one has the balls these days to actually face the reality that there are just some things some people should not do. Like the trophies for everyone crap. Oh we can't hurt the feelings of the losing team so lets give them a trophy too... A note to all parents. EVERY sport has some element of danger or possible injury. That is just the way it is. Maybe the shitty council should just ban sports altogether. Yeah,... thats the way to go, lets ban anything that has any possible element of danger. It's for the kids after all.

Here's a suggestion, ban that energy source that powers 2-ton steel constructs into hapless pedestrians crossing the street. Makes about as much sense as this does.

Glad to see things in NYC are just running like a well-oiled machine so that the CC has so much time to kill with nonsensical (and unenforceable) issues like this. Maybe being on the City Council really is a part-time job.
