During the Yankees' spring training game against the Cincinnati Reds, Roger Clemens dropped by with his son and they watched Andy Pettitte pitch three scoreless innings. Of course, who could pay attention to Pettitte when the Rocket was around.
Clemens met with George Steinbrenner briefly, but did not reveal what they may have discussed. A return to the majors - and the Yankees - for Clemens has been a big topic of off-season discussion, but Clemens simply said, "I’m a fan and a friend tonight."
Clemens says he'll make a decision in May, and this is much like last year, when he came out of retirement and joined the Astros in June. We think he's kind of lazy, since coming later lets him miss spring training.
And the Yankees tied the Reds, 1-1.

Cincinnati Indians?
Cincinnati Indians?
Hmmm...*now* it says Cincinnati Reds.
I thought I fixed it earlier - I thought the Yankees had played Cleveland, hence the mixup. Thanks for pointing it out!

So you would rather have Roger Clemens and his fragile legs fresh for spring training than the playoffs? That really doesn't make much sense.
Enough with Clemens... bring on Phil Hughes!!!
Clemens has been working out daily, even pitching in simulated games, to determine if he's still able to pitch. Remember, he's old. Sure, it's not as rigorous as Spring Training, but it's not like he's sitting at home watching Bewitched reruns.
Doesn't matter, though, if he signs anywhere it'll be in Houston.
I could see him going to Boston. He liked Boston and Boston likes him. Moreover, his family really likes Boston. If it weren't for Dan Duquette, Clemens might have been a lifelong Red Sox pitcher. Clemens really likes New York too. The AL is a tougher league than the NL, it's not coincidence that aging pitchers go to the NL and light it up. I think it would be storybook for him to finish up with a season or two in Boston, to reconcile with the team and the fans after Dan Duquette screwed everyone.
