This is one of those few times where I think a lawsuit is absolutely justified. I hope that they win. I feel very badly for these two women.

As somebody who has experienced the weird world of in-vitro, I have a lot of sympathy for these women. Pacheco was apparently 34 when those eggs were harvested - at 38 they are possibly going to be a *lot* more difficult to replace. If that turns out to be true, it's worth a few mil.

The "first controversy" you mention doesn't seem to be a controversy for the lab, per se. They just happened to be the lab involved in the dispute between the deceased's wishes and his parents.

my only hope is that the Chinese/Indian lab that Repro sold the embryos to paid more than half a mil for each...
