I think Trent Hunter played well, but offensively, no one was home. Why is it that one of the most gifted offensive talents in the history of the game can't do shootouts?

your beloved DP was the only Islander who showed up last night - I give him his props for the saves, but Blake's goal was a fluke. The Rangers won - quit yer whining.

Even as an Isles fan, I agree with the statement. The Rangers had a better gameplan, but DP was stronger than everyone last night. I guess we'll see how Thursday shapes up. One thing though, the Islanders are already "in" a playoff spot, and all things considered, aren't likely to fall. Why is it that this feat doesn't get noticed after being the laughing stock of the NHL in teh offseason, and surprising everyone with overall strong play?

They won on the shoot-out! They couldn't seal the deal in regulation or overtime! They still couldn't win after 57 shots on goal. If you ask me, this is a victory for DiPietro and an embarrassment for the Rangers.
