Pencil This In
READING: John Sellers will be reading from his book, Perfect from Now On: How Indie Rock Saved My Life, tonight. Idolizing bands like Joy Division, Sonic Youth, Pavement and Guided by Voices, the book outlines how he developed his taste in music. It reads more like a blog, than a book, which makes sense since Sellers has one.
7pm // Barnes & Noble [675 6th Ave] // Free
MUSIC: Todd P brings The Thermals (pictured with Reno 911?!) and The Big Sleep to the Studio B stage tonight. The venue is normally horrific, but comes alive (in a good way) for shows such as this one. Get ready to get rocked and sweat so much you'll forget about how cold it is outside.
8pm // Studio B [259 Banker St, Brooklyn] // $12
KARAOKE: Cheaper than the NY Mag's pick for cheapest karaoke in town...is Karaoke Killed the Cat. Join the weekly karaoke experts for a night of booze and tunes.
10pm // Pianos [158 Ludlow St] // Free
COMEDY: Aziz Ansari will be hosting his Crash Test show again tonight at UCB. With his new MTV series, Human Giant, coming up - the show hasn't been happening weekly. Take this opportunity to check him out, with tonight's guests Eugene Mirman and AD Miles.
