hmm.. see, after reading this, and thinking about the ad a bit i suspect the person that made this particular flyer is saying "dude, don't splash art, splash these shitty american apparel ads"

if the splasher is american apparel, why would they only post over the buffed pieces on north 6th and none of the other splasher hits around nyc? also, whenever the splasher hits faile's own building on north 6th street, faile takes the liberty of removing it within a day. yet the so-called american apparel ad has stayed up on faile's OWN building for over a week. hmmm. maybe someone should go ask failure what he thinks.

um, that is just obviously such a baiting lie. i mean, american apparel is lower than dogshit, don't get me wrong, but i don't think there's anyway this can be construed as an AA ad. why would aa suggest that their own ads should splashed? why would the splasher splash their own manifesto? anyway, people are so dumb.

an acquaintance of mine is one of the splashers -- he told me he was contacted a few weeks back by american apparel's marketing dept. about sponsorships... he said he didn't take it but i guess he changed his mind...

See this is why all this new bullshit street art sucks. Real graffiti artists, who carry spray cans and not stupid drawings and buckets of glue, would have handled the splasher problem a long time ago. We would have waited, set him up and beat his teeth out of his face for essentially crossing us out. Why don’t you capitalist art school failures team up and take care of the problem before mommies and daddies money runs out and you cannot make your bullshit art anymore. if it is AA, may the same treatment be dealt to their stores, their product inside the stores, and anyone who tries to stop the returned favor. if it is AA, and it's quite possible, it's really unfortunate that they're such whores for attention that they'd destroy some nice works.

man, if AA is the splasher, than that is ONE MORE reason to never shop there. Ruin art in the name of publicity and profit? fuck that. They already keep me OUT of their stores from their pseudo porno photo shoot advertising on the walls and in the dressing rooms, and this is just the last straw.

uhhh.... OR... WAY more likely- American Apparel sees controversial hipster art grafitti related news happening directly to it's own demographic, and decides to quickly capiltalize on the news by tying it into a new marketing campaign in order to get some free press out of it.
