Haha. Good call, "here we go again." In response to everyone who's like, "Aah! Black kids! Thugs! Oh my!": I live in Bed-Stuy and trust me when I say that it's all image - dudes trying too hard to act tough. If hipsters had a counterpart, it'd be them (and vice versa). Maybe you people wouldn't be so "menaced" if you didn't take it so seriously and start shaking in your shoes and getting wide-eyed the minute a bunch of dudes in all-over print hoodies, baggy pants, and do-rags hop on the train. Christ. I know it's a hard concept to swallow, but there is actually a bigger chance you will get messed with (or hurt, god forbid) if you act like a victim!

Laura's comments are why Bernhard Goetz was only convicted of illegal possession of a firearm and why I believe that if everyone carried a concealed weapon, not just the hoods, NYC would be an even safer place. That way when 3 retarded hoods want to menace the humans you can say "that's cool, my glock carries 15 rounds, thats five for each of you."

if a white man or woman from south africa emmigrates to united states, would he/she too be labeled african american? where the hell is al sharpton to condemn these acts? he's such a phony. if he condemned these acts and did more to help his bretheren rather than stage protests down fifth ave, we'd all be better off. speaking of al "phony bologna" sharpton, didn't the cops who shot sean bell go before a grand jury today? any news?

Yes , although it is heavy speculation, I too think it involved african americans. Though I feel sorry for the boy for being stabbed, it seems that the majority of these incidents do involve the african americans. My friend told me that he was riding the 6 train once and a number of young african american teens started yelling at everyone in the train saying racist vulgarities to people and insulting them in their face. Of course, nobody did anything back, in fear of being attacked. Just two days ago as I got off the L train, 3 african teens were hopping from different train carriages to the next train carriage using the main opening doors and shuffling to the next one. They were yelling at people telling them "MOVE B*TCH!" they even said "F@*K YOU!' to me for no reason as I was getting of the train heading home. There are a handful of incidents (about 5) where African Americans have yell at me with racial slurs or vulgarities but I've never been able to stand up for myself because the last thing I want is to be stabbed.

Van Buren would suggest that Briscoe and Green check out local hardware stores and see if anyone noticed a missing phillips sometime before the assault. Then the episode would end with a white male banker being convicted of the stabbing.
