Doesn't This Bring Back Memories?

Remember the days of Don Zimmer sitting in the Yankee dugout next to Joe Torre? Does anyone else miss those, because we sure do. Just seeing Zim with Torre is refreshing. We can't help but think what they were talking about. "Remember that time when you and Pedro Martinez got into a fight? Or that time where you got beaned in the head by an errant throw and wore an army helmet afterwards?"

And if you want more Zimmer action, there's always his book, Zim: A Baseball Life.

You're right, Tien. As someone old enough to dimly remember the good/bad old days of Zimmer managing the Red Sox, my favorite thing about watching the Yankees was Zim in the dugout. When Pedro threw him down, it was one of the most disgraceful things in Red Sox history.

Disgraceful to the Sox or the Yanks? Zim was the one who charged at Pedro in the first place.

He kinda deserved that throwdown. Its not like Pedro knocked him out.

i remember him on the cubs.

I wish he was back. If George hadn't treated him so shabbily, he'd still be there.

:(

Zimmer shoulda slugged him. 'Course he'd have to jump up to do it (now that would have been a sight).

Had Zim been 20 (OK maybe 50) years younger, he'd have eaten and pooped out little Pedros!

I'd say more shame to the Yanks, letting their 70 old coach charge Pedro while the young millionaires whined and cowered by their dugout. Yanks might have the talents but still have zero desire, heart and drive, then and now.
