Hmmm. This problem will never be fixed so get used to it . The problem itself is the poor drainage within the trackbed . The crrews responsile for maintaining it don't do the job .

i lucked out. my first commute from brooklyn to soho on the 3 went without a hitch. so glad i've gotten out of that jersey city hole, because of course, the path would be crippled by inclimate weather. bleck.

It took me over 90 minutes to go from 79th St to 28th Street in Manhattan on a single line (7th Ave) - starting at 8:45. An hour of that was spent waiting for a train to get on. About four trains came in that period, completely packed and only a few people could get on each time. Oh yeah, a 1 train also skipped our stop, and some expresses came by on the 1 track and didn't stop. Eventually I got on a 3 train that was running local. The service sucked. I could have walked quicker. Wish I'd known.

I don't know which MTA executive has his thumb up his ass, but this is getting ri-goddam-diculous. It was alittle bit of rain, not a tsunami, and look at how it crippled multiple subway lines. I remember about 7-8 years ago when there was a torrential downpour for about 45 minutes, literally buckets of water, and the trains were understandably messed up. The problems today made it seem like the equivalent of that weather.

As I've said again and again, NYC is *only* liveable if you don't *have* to take the subway. Not working, walking to work, working from home while living in a great part of Manhattan - if you think that's not the only way to live in NYC, you're delusional. OF COURSE the subway is great to have as an option, but it's horrific if it's your *only* option. Anyone dare to disagree? -OY

I took the 2/3 from W 72 a little after 8 am this morning. The train ran express and took the usual 25 minutes to get to Wall Street.

I got on at 96th st. (the 2) at about 7:15am, we were stuck there for about 10 minutes, got to 72nd st., then went back into the tunnel and we were packed like sardines in the tunnel for HALF AN HOUR. We heard the conductor screaming at the dispatcher and apparently were rerouting trains at times square back uptown.

F/R/M station at Seventh Ave. and Ninth St. in Park Slope: leaky ceilings, water streaming down staircase. Doofus MTA employee with broom seemed to wait until train pulled into station before sweeping water into path on exiting customers. Couldn't help but laugh, although a lady behind me hurled expletives at him, not realizing he was just playing the hand god dealt him.

The 4/5 was screwed, too, “due to earlier incident.” Waited for 20 minutes for a train, which was predictably stuffed. Eventually found a spot at the very front of the first car. When we got to Brooklyn Bridge (where the 6 local begins), I could hear through the plexiglass the conductor talking to dispatch: “Grand Central, talk to me! I got confused people here! Are we local or express? What’s our next stop?” This went on for five minutes. Don’t blame the conductors, blame the folks at MTA Air Traffic Control.

I have no problems going to work other than the early downpour. Around 3pm when I left work, I caught the 1 at 3:40, after waiting at least 20 minutes. I'll take the 1 over the A anyday.

Took the 3 from Penn Station to 72 St. at 8AM. Train was running local but no problem otherwise.

don't forget PATH, they had a big power outage this morning with no service on any lines except for newark->jsq, no service at all to NYC for more than an hour.

Took the 1 from 225th Street to 96th Street around 8am. Didn't have to wait long for the train (must have timed it right), but the train was unusually crowded for 225th Street. A couple stops later we started getting delayed, sitting in each station for a few minutes. At 137th Street they announced it would run express to 103rd Street because we were so delayed and the train was packed. Once at 96th Street I tried transferring to the 2/3 train. There were no 3 trains, and the 2 trains were crowded. I had to wait for a second 2 train to come before boarding. It was slow and delayed between 96th Street and 42nd. But, the conductor did announce why it was being delayed (flooding), how the service was changing (no 1 trains and express trains were going local), and gave riders options for how to get to South Ferry (suggested jumping on the N train...even though it doesn't go to Whitehall). Overall, my commute was about 25 minutes longer than usual.

At Times Square this morning (I was on a 2 that diverted to the local track), I saw heard a lady getting off a 3 (on the express track) and yelling "You could have announced it!" to the conductor. She then stomped onto the local train.
