The first line of a NY Times Caucus Blog post on Giuliani speaking today: "Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani invoked Ronald Reagan at least a dozen times in his speech this afternoon before a fairly young audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington." Is Reagan Rudy's new 9/11? The Politico says there's a "Mood of Gloom at CPAC" and people are wistful for Reagan, so, clearly Giuliani knows his audience.
The Times' Kate Phillips says his speech was low key, he walked onstage to "New York, New York," and singles out this Reaganqesque quote, "You and I have a lot of common beliefs that are the same and some that are different. … We don’t all agree on everything. I don’t agree with myself on everything.’’ See? Rudy is totally divisive (even if it's only within himself).
And yesterday, when Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney called Rudy "pro-choice," "pro-gay marriage," and "anti-gun," Giuliani's aides said "Giuliani would abide by Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment and 'not speak ill of a fellow Republican," per the Daily News. We bet his aides are also ready to say "Reagan was married more than once, too!"

"Reagan was married more than once, too!" Yeah but not to his own cousin...!
Also, after what Reagan did to Gerald Ford in 1976, Reagan may have never spoken ill of another Republican but he certainly wasn't above stabbing one in the back when it suited him.
He's on CSPAN now,
for the love of God, America, don't vote for this douchebag.
He's a Bald, cancer ridden a-hole.
Screw Rudy and his B*llsh*t run for the presidency . If you vote for this loser then you deserve everything that comes with him being President !
Oct 2004: On national television, in his ever increasing effort to suck up even more to Bush-the-Lesser, Rudy BLAMES THE TROOPS for the "missing" weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
How's His Imperial Baldness going to spin that lie?
To obtain an annulment because of consanguity in the Catholic Church (marriage to second cousins is allowed in the Church, as well as in New York State), Rudy would have had to swear that the marriage was not legal in the first place because he and his spouse were first cousins, and that he did not know this at the time of their marriage. At the time of their marriage, he swore that they were not closer than second cousins. Now, with his brilliant legal mind, did Rudy
a) not know that his first cousin was his first cousin, and marry in good faith, keeping together until, 14 years later, he discovered that they were first cousins
b) know that his first cousin was his first cousin, but lied about it, causing the marriage to be unlawful under New York State law, due to fraud
c) know that his first cousin was his first cousin, but continued to live in an illegal marriage, until he met Donna Hanover and decided to look for a way out
d) know that his cousin was his actually his second cousin (as certain biographies have claimed) and lied that they were first cousins to the Archbishop about it in order to obtain an annulment?
Three out of four seem awfully sleazy for a man who was so loud and quick to condemn President Clinton for having a consensual fling with another willing adult.
It seems to me that the Republicans are in a quandry these days, and with good reason. Take Giuliani, for example. He's trying to play the Reagan trump card. All we have to do is look back on the Reagan administration to see that Ronny was an out and out crook (anybody remember the Iran Contra Affair?). Yeah. The fiasco where Ronny had Ollie North (yet another crook) take the fall for him. We've had 8 long years under a dictator named "W" who has, with the help of a Republican Congress, run this great country into the ground by entering into an undefined war that will pale Vietnam in comparison. More conservatism? More Republicans? Think, people. THINK!! Mr. Obama is our only prayer.
