THEATER: Get your war to end all wars on at the Times-approved revival of Journey’s End, based on “a true experience of World War I friendship, bonding and survival”. First produced in the roaring twenties, the action takes place in a trench in St. Quentin, France, where a group of British officers are stuck way deep in the shit. Brantley deems it a “theatrical rarity, an uncompromising, clear-eyed play about war — and not war as it echoes on the home front or in chambers of government, but war as a daily phenomenon for those who fight it.” - John Del Signore
8pm // Belasco Theatre [111 West 44th Street] // Ticket prices vary
MUSIC: You know Michael Pitt from "Last Days', "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and probably from his role as Henry Parker in Dawson's Creek. During the filming of "Last Days" he met Thurston Moore, and eventually formed a band called Pagoda. Their debut album is out today. The sound? Think...Nirvana. Give a listen: Lesson Learned.mp3
Dare we say he's transcended the taboo of celebrity band?
10pm // Tonic [107 Norfolk St] // $15
