This is pretty typical problem. Midwood is full of houses that feel entitled to all the sidewalk space in front of their houses (three cars worth of "driveway") - leaving no normal parking space for building dwellers. This self-modification of the sidewalk is illegal but they seem to get away with it just fine - the house owners even paint the curb yellow in front of their places! Even if this was the story here, this is no justification for running into anyone, of course!

I like the headline. "Drives in pregnant woman .." makes it sound like her unborn tot is learning how to drive stick a little early in the game. now, Jen, remember your prepositions!
