Late Night With...

So what happens to NBC's late night shows when Conan replaces Leno in two years? The Times reports that, "One move is expected to involve signing Jimmy Fallon, a former star of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” to what is known as a holding deal. It would bring him back to the network and put him in position to be a prime contender for Mr. O’Brien’s job as host of NBC’s “Late Night” show, at 12:35 a.m."

Sure, you probably hate Jimmy Fallon, but let's consider the alternative for a minute, The Times goes on to say that Mr. TRL himself is also asking to be considered. Carson Daly...Jimmy Fallon...Carson Daly...Jimmy Fallon. We'll take Jimmy any day.

In the early 1980s David Letterman signed a holding deal with NBC and by 1982 took his spot in late-night programming, so it seems like Fallon is following those footsteps. We hope it resembles "The Barry Gibb Show" (see below):

Gak. Jimmy Fallon or Carson Daly? They both suck and they're not even good at that.

Does anyone know if Conan will stay in NYC or make the move to LA? I know he recently bought a new apartment in the city...

As long as Jimmy promises to discuss chest hair at least once a week...

C'mon people, Vote Joe!

Who is the crackhead at NBCUniversal that thinks Jimmay Fallon is funny. I thought his 15 minutes was over after making perhaps the worst movie of all time in Fever Pitch. Who on earth is going to tune in at 12:35 to watch him make kissy faces at the camera and laugh at his own jokes? Tina Fey maybe?

If this will keep Jimmy from doing any more movies then I'm all for him being a late night talk show host.

Ok so yes, Fever Pitch sucked. I can agree with that. But has any one listened to Jimmy's stand up? He's terrific! I would love to see him get his own show!

Forget Jimmy and Carson, they should get Andy Samburg, that guy is the funniest part of SNL.

Jimmy Fallon = blech. Carson? Even less. Jimmy is NOT, nor ever was, funny without a supporting cast. Carson? Who? 30 minute commercials for Girls Gone Wild have more entertaining value. Yet he gets a paycheck. I'd rather watch "The Guy playing a Sax" in the subway than either of those useless tools. Jimmy Fallon show? Over in two weeks. I'll take odd's now.

jimmy would be great!

I cannot see them making any amount of money, nor progress towards redemption as a network if they decide to this turgid piece of crap. I will openly admit that a few times on SNL I laughed at things that Jimmy did. How many years was he on the show? I laughed maybe three or four times at him. Whoever said Shamburg should replace him..yea, I would rather crawl naked through a huge pile of thumb tacks that are laced in lemon juice and salt with huge opne gashes all over my body before I would watch anything else other than the Narnia rap or Dick In A Box from that no talent puke.

How about Jim Gaffigan?!?!?!?!?!?

That guys seems to be a favorite at Late Night since he's always on. He and Conan get along pretty well and that's good. It could be something like The Daily Show and Colbert Report. Two buddies with shows one after another.

It's brilliant! C'mon NBC, Jim has probably made alot of money for you guys already with his "Pale Force" cartoons.

Fallon is a disappointment. His first two seasons at SNL showed a lot of promise, especially since he is a gifted impressionist. He also made some good dramatic turns in the Band of Brothers minseries and the film Almost Famous. I thought this kid might become a force in Hollywood. But as seasons of SNL went on it became clear that he was not that good. His constant smirking at the camera and breaking character became annoying. It showed a real lack of professionalism in my opinion. His stand up act suffered as well. Anyone remember his perfomance at the Concert for Heroes after 9/11? A real embarrasment. I think he became infatuated with the NYC nightlife and his celebrity status, he was dogging it. Maybe with some maturity and the right writers and producers he could pull this off.

What about Amy Sedaris? She's quirky, funny, brilliant, and it's also about time that a woman was considered for this position. Jimmy Fallon and Carson Daly would both be mistakes, and they would last just marginally longer then Magic Johnson or Chevy Chase. I never bothered watching SNL because it stopped being funny a long time ago, and I didn't want to see the same sketches repeated week after week, and lasting about three times as long as they should. Besides, a talk show host is supposed to be quick on his feet, and Jimmy Fallon won't be able to talk without a teleprompter, and Carson Daly has all the personality of boiled beef.

I'd watch Jimmy for sure. Watching Carson's show is like being repeatedly punched in the face.

But what about Robert Smigel? I heard he was in the running.

Two words.....Joel McHale.

I think jimmy would be good at late night. He was good as the weekend update anchor. That was one of the only thing he was good at on SNL. I would prefer him do this to acting.

jimmy fallon has a big fan base. id watch if he had a talk show.

I would like to second the motion brought to the table by greg......Joel Mchale all the way.

Of course not Jimmy Fallon or Carson Daly. If they were to be a success, they'd have it by now.

My favorites are Zach Galifianakis & Michael Ian Black. The other two acceptable ideas are Amy Sedaris & Joel McHale. Any of those four seem to make sense to me right now.

Oh yeah, get rid of Ferguson too. He's wearing thin.

I have suggested another performer who I think could ably fit into Conan's shoes(not literally of course).

Patton Oswalt

Now I think he is the man for that slot.

It's a shit buiness

I'd walk in a urinal and heads would turn, now look at me stuck in a dead end job nothing going for me apart from Deal or bloody no deal.

Its a Shit Business........You learn

Everyone that doesn't like Jimmy is crazy -he's so underratedly funny and would be great as a replacement.
