I was not affected by the jetblue activity of the last week, but I must say that I will only fly jetblue despite this latest round of drama. At Christmas, I was trying to get home to Colorado with my sister when my flight with American Airlines got cancelled. They could not rebook me until well after Christmas. Heartbroken, I checked just about every form of transportation which were of course all booked solid except for one flight on Jetblue on Christmas Eve. Because of that flight my sister and I were able to make it home in time for Christmas and not a week later. I will only fly jetblue, but my heart does go out to all of those with cancelled flights, and the people on the other end waiting to see them.

Actually, the headline should be "Moron delays flight".

I've travelled everywhere with my dog (although she's too big to fly in the cabin with me), and I've never delayed a flight in my life.

It's an ugly, ugly quality of some people that they choose to blame all for the actions of a tiny few.

BklynNative,

Too bad there's no such thing as a "pet-free" flight. Most airlines allow pets in the cabin so long as they're in their carriers. Tough luck. Say, if the woman had been refusing to strap her seatbelt, would you demand a seatbelt-free flight?

It's probably your mother's fault you have allergies to begin with. Check out the Hygiene Hypothesis. Maybe you'd like a mother-free flight.

I'm agreeing with the letter author -- JetBlue was seriously screwy on Friday night. I waited for five hours (past the originally scheduled departure time of my flight) and was pretty cool about the whole thing. Had some beers, relaxed, talked with other passengers.

There were:

- no announcements of changes in the flight status until FOUR hours after the original departure date
- no offers to reimburse anyone
- plenty of free bags of Terra Chips

Interestingly, my flight (upon my leaving) was not even listed on the status board.

JetBlue did ultimately refund the ticket, but that really should have been a given.

I agree, TR. On both accounts.

I am still devoted to JetBlue, I have to say. No other airline seems to stand up and admit it when they're wrong. They made a mistake. I do hope that this doesn't cost them more than few bad jokes on late night talk shows.

I think they're and awesome airline for the most part.

I for one think that Jet Blue's apology and frank admittance of their bad management was really refreshing, condsidering that most airlines would give a terse no comment or give some sort of uptight, bullshit excuse.

bklnnative needs to understand that people sometimes have to travel with their pets, as in during a long distance move and most of us don't want to do it.

Now in addition to my vegetarian meal, I will have to ask for a "pet free flight" so I can get to my allergic self to my destination in addition to being able to breathe during the flight!

That passenger should have been described as "pet owner not only refuses the order of the flight crew but delays flight".

In my opinion, she should have been booked at a police facility for that crime rather than another flight.

I think describing this woman as a "unruly pet owner" is incorrect and should be described as a "Disorderly Passenger refusing to follow the order of airline personnel to put her per into the pet carrier that she is required to travel with and intentionally delaying a flight".

Seriously folks I understand loving a pet but I am now going to have to request "pet free flights" when I travel so that I can not only breathe but actually get to where I am going?
