Pillow Fight!

2007_02_pillowfight2.jpg

Ever want to end your stressful week with a good 'ol fashion pillow fight? Us too! Good news, Newmindspace presents Pillow Fight! NYC. Feathers will fly in what is sure to be a massive group of urbanites pelting each other with puffy pillows. So spend some time fluffing yours this week for the main event, here are the only rules:

"Soft pillows only! Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once. Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras. Remove glasses beforehand! The event is FREE and appropriate for ALL AGES. Wait until the signal to begin. This event is more fun with feathers! Costumes and funky pillows encouraged."

The "fight" goes down this Saturday at 2:12pm (odd) in Union Square. Here are some pictures from last year.

2:12, as in area code 212 perhaps?

Post Modernism has reached a silly-willy-nutty-zany-whacky real-life-sitcom new kinda' like high and stuff. Public pillow fighting -- YAY!

don't they need a permit for this? it's over 50 people?

Wars are fought to maintain these kinds of freedoms!

Fixations on dodgeball, hamburgers, cupcakes and pillow fights? How long until 20-somethings start accessorizing their Threadless shirts with diapers and bibs?

I'm sure the Chinese birds that were plucked alive several times over their miserables lives would be delighted to see how you value their pain.

Don't forget to take a shit in a baby's mouth on the way home, to avoid any karma build-up.

Thanks for posting this, Jen :) I would like to remind everybody that we are going to clean up afterward. If you are interested in volunteering, grab a broom, gloves and garbage bag by the statue.

We attempted to donate the pillows last year, but apparently for hygienic reasons, down pillows are supposed to be thrown out 12 months because bacteria colonize the feather fibers. Who knew!

See you on Saturday :)

Will be there. With my 13-month old down pillow, which apparently needs to be destroyed anyway. Wheee!

thats what I call healthy spring cleaning!!!
