Was he ticketed?. The sign DID say "No Parking" and it seems he was parked there for at least 5 hours.

Something like this happened in Buffalo years ago. A guy jumped off City Hall, and impaled himself on the flag pole.

My condolences to the family. Any Suicide (Assuming for now) is tragic, but for the family to have to deal with the gruesome nature of his death makes it even worse.
