Last Night's Action: The Rangers Rebound

  • Rangers 2 Blackhawks 1: The last time the Rangers saw Brendan Shanahan he was strapped to a stretcher, so when he came into the locker room before the start of the game to say hello to his teammates it was a surprise. Perhaps it even inspired them as New York jumped out to the lead less than two minutes into the game and never looked back.

Marcel Hossa scored his fifth goal in seven games to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead halfway through the first period and the Rangers played solid defense keeping the injured Henrik Lundqvist from working too much.

Lundqvist stopped 21-of-22 shots and looked like he had recovered nicely from his shoulder injury. With a home-and-home series against the Devils upcoming, the Rangers will certainly need Lundqvist in top form.
