How do you think splasher does it exactly?

If it is just the old trick to fill up balloons (like water balloons) then that is super weak in my opinion.

If a cop saw splasher at work he would probably not even care.

Do you think that could be done from a car or on a bike easily?

Most real street artists have a certain code: Try to stay off of places where a private individual would have to pay out of his own pocket to remove it. So they get up on public spots, abandoned, buildings, places where there is already graffiti , etc. -So all of you who are posting saying things like "Yeah for Spalsher / Stay out of my space artists" do not even really get it.

If you get splashed that means you are worthy.

If splasher is only working on the streets (like the street artists you are calling gay) -then isn't he spalsher gay too?

Maybe one day splasher will do some kick ass stuff defacing some fine art in a gallery?

Sorry splasher ain't no Banksy!!!

you not think a graf writer with a mean streak would've actually written some graf?

also, they wouldn't have put up the pretencious posters with the splash. the guy/girl is worse than those they're criticising. read the poster, laugh your arse off.

STREET ARTISTS HAVE BEEN GETTIN BY WITHOUT ANY BUMPS IN THE ROAD FOR FAR TOO LONG...

FIRST ITS PAINT SPLASHING
NEXT ITS FACE SLASHING..

YOU FAGGOTS DONT WANT NO DRAMA WITH ANYONE REMOTELY LINKED TO THE STREETS.....

ALL I KNOW IS YOU BETTER HOPE THE SPLASHER ENDS UP BEING ANOTHER WHITE BOY HIPSTER IN A SPIKED BELT AND NOT A GRAF WRITER WITH A MEAN STREAK

Wow, man. This really makes me think of the plight of Oaxacan factory workers! Job well done, Swoon. Thanks for using your considerable wall-pasting talents to illuminate us! I bet everything will be a-ok in the third world after this!

You go, Splasher!

I am sick and tired of this vandalism by spoiled brats, many of whom are actually "adults". I am sick and tired of having to clean up my walls from these Philistines' solipsistic vandalism.

Maybe these effers will get the message and try their 'ouvre' on canvas,
But if they did that, no one would look at the crap they call "art".

Keep it up, Splasher, the hero of beleagured NYers.

Someday someone will catch "Splasher" in the act and give that bitch the beatdown he deserves. And anyone who thinks this dipshit is a hero, go back to whatever shithole you crawled out of.

For every one piece of "streetart", there are 1000 shitbags artlessly spraying, etching or scratching their logo (sorry, "tag") onto every available public surface.

A few lucky ones will $ell out like noted fuckbird "Neckface", who leveraged his widespread vandalism into a book and a deal with Vans. So all his tags are just more bullshit guerilla advertising. I'm sick of paying, either directly or indirectly, to have this shit removed.

I'm not sure why everyone constantly complains that there are posts about graffit. This is New York, graffiti is a huge part of our day to day life (if you leave your apartment, that is). I think its interesting that spray painting has evolved into various installation pieces and I certainly appreciate the information about the people doing them. If you think its a waste of time, perhaps you should also focus your energy elsewhere, such as pointing out simple spelling and grammatical mistakes.

so you would rather see a bunch of runny paint on the wall vs. a swoon piece? the pasted paper of swoon will eventually come off on it's own...where as you would have to repaint the entire wall with a splasher hit...difficult choice, isn't it?

"...redo the pieces the vandal defaced."

Yeah, Splasher's the vandal here. What a load of crap. The original "work" is nothing more than graffiti vandalism. It's criminal, and Gothamist you're realy doing the community a disservice by glorifying it. FWIW, good for you Splasher, I like your style.
