Last Night's Action: 4-1 Is Nice On The Ice

  • Rangers 4 Carolina 1: They added Sean Avery just over a week ago and so far he has transformed the team. With Avery on board, the Rangers shuffled their lines, moving Nylander to the second and also reconfiguring the power play.

Thursday it paid off again as the power play tallied three goals and the latest addition, Pascal Dupuis, scored a goal on a great hustle play.

The win put New York only three points out of the last playoff spot in the East.

  • Islanders 4 Boston 1: The Islanders have surprised a lot of people this year and Rick DiPietro is the main reason why. DiPietro was stellar in the nets against the Bruins, stopping 24-of-25 shots and winning his 24th game of the season.
  • St. John’s 60 Rutgers 55: Avery Patterson hit a key three-pointer down the stretch and the Red Storm came closer to securing a bid in the Big East Tournament. The win also gave them at least a .500 record for the regular season.
