The ESDC has no right to rename the building after Daniel Patrick Moynihan. The building was named as a monument to James A. Farley as an act of congress. The James a. Farley Building is a historic landmark, named after a culturally and historically significant individual, James A. Farley. Congress renamed the Amtrack station after Moynihan, not the entire LANDMARK Farley Post Office. Read the bill, its on wikipedia.
James A. Farley is a native New Yorker, while Daniel Moynihan is not. James A. Farley is histroically associated with the Post Office due to his construction of the Farley Annex. Daniel Patrick Moynihan is not associated with the landmark nor is he historically or culturally significant as a politician while Mr. Farley is.
It is very disturbing that Maura Moynihan is using her influence on the Reginal Planning Association in an attempt to remove James A. Farley's name from his congressionally designated monument, and supplement that with her Fathers name. Daniel Moynihan already has a federal courthouse named after him in lower manhatten.
Since all parties seem to consider Moynihan such a genious...maybe they should heed his words in regards to the renaming of the Post office after him, "Good old jim Farley's name should stay there" the late Sen. Proclaimed. I hope someone sues the responsible parties for this fraud on one of our nations finest Landmarks, in " good old Jim Farley's " name.

I think everyone has failed to notice that congress named the Amtrak Station after Moynihan,
not the entire LANDMARK James A. Farley Building. James A. Farley is a native New Yorker and Historically and culturally significant to our countries history, Daniel Patrick Moynihan is not a native New Yorker, nor has cultural and or historical significance. Also Daniel Patrick Moynihan has a federal courthouse named after him in lower manhatten already. I think it is disgusting that Maura Moynihan is using her influence on the Reginal Planning Association in an attempt to supplement her Fathers name for that of Farley's name from his congressionaly designated Landmark. How can the building be Jim Farley's monument, and Moynihan's Monument.
After all Daniel Moynihan is quoted as saying he wanted "Good old jim Farley's name to stay right there". Since everyone believes Moynihan to be such a genious, why dosnt the ESDC head the late Sen. advise? I hope someone sues them in "good old Jim Farley's" name.
