Damn that winning squash pie looks good I wish I had gotten to taste it. Nice write up Rothman.. next year I'm going to enter with a secret squash recipe (secret ingredient being bacon..shhh!)

I like squash italian style here is a recipe: 2 - 3 pieces large squash chopped up rinsed Olive oil 6 cloves garlic crushed. Small box of mushrooms rinsed fresh basil half a box of cooked pasta elbows (whole wheat if poss.) Stir fry the squash in olive oil over medium, cook for 3 minutes, add the mushrooms and crushed garlic cook for another 2 minutes. Then Add cooked pasta and basil...awesome. Serve with Parmesaen Cheeze....mmmm

It would have been nice if you had posted about this event BEFORE it took place. That would have actually been useful.
