Jen Chung on Live at Five!

2007_2_jenchungHD.jpg

Jen made her first high-definition television appearance last night on WNBC's Live at Five. She spoke to Sue Simmons and Lynda Baquero about New York blogs-- besides Gothamist, she also mentioned Brownstoner and Midtown Lunch.

Bonus fact 1: Before the cameras were on, Jen told Sue how much we all love her groundhog impression! Bonus fact 2: After the segment, she saw Chuck Scarborough in the news room! And here's a very comprehensive history of Live at Five on Wikipedia.

Oh man! How did I miss this! Way to go, Jen! You look wonderful.

Kudos to Jen! What a fantastic step for the blogosphere. Gothamist is a real resource, and one of the best news sources for what's really happening in the city. Way to go!

I wrote the tip yesterday.
I was taking my usual 5:00pm nap before dinner and was awaken by this segment.
I usually watch lat5 because I can't stand the harpies on channel seven and the bored stiffs at channel 2.
She also mentioned her partner Jake.

ROCK ON JEN!!! Scaling the A-list one letter at a time!

was she topless? she's got some rack on her...

Were there any verbal typos? Did she get her facts wrong about anything?

user-pic

wow, she speaks the same way she writes! completely incoherently!

Jen Chung = NYC hottie

Could prime time be next? Congrats!

Nice Job, very articulate as always.
;)

Jen is hot! and congrats to Gothamist for making the news!

wow. She's cute. She also talks like how she writes. Badly.

She is cute. she's going to have no problems with aging. even for a suburban girl.

There's no question that there should be someone proofing the articles here, however, to make fun of Jen and how she preformed in her appearance on TV for no good reason is just high school-grade childishness.

If anyone has a problem with the grammar or spelling here, why not make it a community effort to courteously point out the error? The people who complain also show up here regularly, if all you can think to do is bitch and moan go elsewhere, and stop repeating the same rhetoric of negativity. If you complain because you see some worth to this place, then help out!

The prickish behavior from a few here is juvenile, and tiresome.

For the record, Jen did alright for someone who isn't normally on TV.

Been a fan of both Gothamist and of Jen's posts for a long time now... Nice to see her get some publicity.

Congrats, that was mighty dope

Is Jen's first language, Chinese? Her grammer in her interviews and writing are kinda off. She has runon sentences and doesn't know how to punctuate.

As a matter of fact, my first language IS Chinese. Bonus fact 3: My first language was Cantonese and the second was Shanghainese. Net effect: I can't really say anything in any language. But I'll save the story about why I think my cognitive skills have been fouled up since age 2 for another time.

And thanks for the support, everyone. And yes, I may have rambled and wish I could have been more eloquent. But live TV was daunting, as well as very exciting.

1 I thought Jen was more cogent than the two ladies who were doing the interviewing for CNBC

2 Please don't take this the wrong way but Jen Chung is an exceptionally good looking woman. :) Great reporter but, y'know from a man's point of view..

Bravo Jen - a great showing. Gothamist and its readers should be proud.

Jen chung = the sister I've always wanted.

Way to go Jen! I always visit gothamist no matter where I am in the world to find out whats going on in the city. Keep up your hard work.

Go, Chung, Go. Show that Sue how it's done.

Congrats!! You're great!!

Jen!!! You're still hot! Hearing your voice just made you more beautiful. Your husband is one lucky guy!

Wish I married someone like Jen

Hey Jen, you did a great job - I know how daunting it can be to have a camera bearing down on you.

(And just to add another voice to the chorus, you look great.)

Holy crap Jen, you've got a future in TV. If NBC (or any of the networks) were smart, they would have you on every week to do a "What's Happening" in the blogosphere segment.

You look great, sound great, and speak great.

And I love the way you write...these other people are just jealous. You write like you wer a friend talking to another friend. It's refreshing.

whoever booked that young love BlogAd is STOKED

well done, though. now i can listen to your voice in my head while reading stuff like "the threw the man closd doors"

I get the feeling Sue hates Jen. "This one's not new, but rejuvenated. Have you had the chicken and waffles? Googlymoogly!"

FYI #20... it's run-on sentences, there's no such word as runon.

You all have a crush on her ! I hope she's married .
