- Florentine specialty gundi gets the Sunday treatment in the Daily News from Irene Sax. April Bloomfield speaks about the “fluffy little bites of love”, Iacopo Falai calls them a “woman's dish”, and Mark Ladner’s recipe from Del Posto is included. Hit DiPalo’s to find the sheep’s milk that is essential for a winning dish at home.
- Apparently Paper Magazine is moving/has moved to K-Town, and have decided to celebrated with a nice round-up for food and other highlights in their new low 30’s landscape.
- We never though we would say this, but does anyone want to head to LA to get some pizza? Not surprising that the hometown paper would be on board, but even impeachable pizza authority Ed Levine is co-signing on this pizza place from Nancy Silverton and Mario Batali. Bonus enjoyment: Ed Levine slams some hapless chowhounder from LA who does not get it.
- New goings on at Michael Ruhlman’s blog; seems he is bringing Anthony Bourdain, his frequent sparring partner, onto the site in a somewhat more regular capacity. Other changes are in store as well.
- All sorts of great nutritional information and common sense was interestingly put forth by Michael Pollan in the NYT magazine last week, we especially liked the nine “flagrantly unscientific” rules of thumb. Thanks to Meg for the still valid link, check out her comments to the rules as well.
- Speaking of the right approach to food, we are happy to see Cesare Casella get some attention from Mr. Bruni on the blog, but sad to hear he was only marginally impressed. Commenters are already rallying to his side - as one mentions, he really is one of the good guys. He gets why it is important to ride on the old fashioned food train that Mr. Pollan touches on in his articles and his food generally reflects this on numerous levels.
Oh yeah, also there was some food blogger article in the New York Times Sunday Styles. Don't forget to look at the sidebar.
