I've never devoured a salad the same way I have devoured this salad.

Genius 'crumbelievable' reference, definitely a man after my own heart

Sahara is absolutely amazing. I have been a huge fan since I discovered it a couple years ago, and after recently moving nearby I have become a full-fledged Sahara addict. Every last thing I've had there was amazing; from the bread to the Shepherds Salad to the cigar böregis to the meats - everything! Definitely worth the trip.

He makes it sounds like he enjoys Sahara's Shephard Salad, not that they invented it. It does look like a real delight!

Anyhow, they had me at the slogan--I love a good pun. Or a bad one.

I love Sahara. A few years ago they used to have a giant ad right before the BQE and Brooklyn Battery Tunnel entrances in Carroll Gardens, which never made sense since that’s nowhere near Coney Island Ave. and faced drivers leaving Brooklyn, not entering it. The ad included a photo of a floating gyro spit at the top and from a distance it looked like a sundae. I always thought of Sahara as the freaky “meat sundae” place and was excited when I moved into an apt. one block from the billboard. The advertising worked because it did inspire me to try Sahara. Unfortunately, they took it down a couple years ago and a plastic surgery ad took its place.

Well, you make it sound like Sahara’s has invented that Shepherd Salad.

In fact, it is a traditional dish commonly served in Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia and other Balkan coutries.
